TwittMS Frequently given answers. |
Where do I get support?
If you can't find an answer in this FAQs, you can contact us by email:
support (at) pleasantsoftware (dot) com.
Please give us a few business days to respond; we get lots of e-mail!
I received/sent a Direct Message containing web links. Can I open those links from within TwittMS?
Yes. Just tap on the message to open an action sheet containing a list of links found in the message. By tapping one of the listed links, TwittMS opens the URL in Safari.
Why are only "Followers" displayed in my contacts list?
Twitter sends Direct Messages only to contacts who are currently following your Twitter account. When trying to send a Direct Message to a user not following you, Twitter generates an error message.
Since TwittMS is all about conversations, it makes no sense to add "read-only" contacts (i.e. contacts you follow, but not the other way around). Although they are able to send you direct messages, you cannot answer them.
Wouldn't it make sense to display only Followers, which I am following as well?
Sure, since this would be the only way to have a two way conversation.
Unfortunally, a bug in Twitter's API currently prevents us to filter the list of Followers. As soon as this bug is fixed by Twitter, we'll change the display in TwittMS accordingly.
Can I tell the number of unread messages in TwittMS on the iPhone Home Screen?
Yes. The TwittMS icon on the Home Screen displays the number of unread messages:

How can I group or remove my contacts in TwittMS?
Rearrange contacts:
Create additional pages: drag a contact to the right edge of the screen until a new page appears. You can flick to return to the original screen and drag more contacts to the new screen.
You can create up to ten pages. The number of dots under the contacts shows the number of pages you have, and indicates which page you are viewing.
Switch to another page: Flick left or right, or tap to the left or right of the row of dots.
Delete contacts from a page: Tap on the "x" in the upper left corner of a contact icon to open an action sheet. Tap "Remove Contact" to remove the contact.
How can I check if there are any new messages on other pages?
The page controller below the contact icons indicates pages containing unread messages with a red dot:
